MOHAMED Azmin Ali has dismissed suggestions of forming a new party, reiterating that he will stay in PKR and find ways to resolve differences he has with the leadership.
The PKR deputy president said he was prepared to settle any misunderstanding with Anwar Ibrahim if he was called by the party president.
“I am ready. I invite all party leaders to join me in uniting the party. There is no question of a new party. There are problems but let us find ways to overcome them,” he told reporters after speaking at a dinner in the Renaissance Hotel in Kuala Lumpur tonight.
Earlier Azmin, delivered an emotionally charged speech at the gathering, which was touted as a dinner to brief party leaders on the government’s Shared Prosperity Vision 2030.
In practice, PKR leaders allied with Azmin used it as a platform to lash out at Anwar.
The hotel’s grand ballroom was packed with some 3,000 attendees with chants of reformasi and “Kekal Tenang” (keep calm) filling the air whenever a leader arrived or made a powerful statement.

Earlier today, Azmin said he will not leave PKR after Anwar insisted that he will not sack his deputy.
Anwar gave the assurance despite some PKR leaders calling for the sacking of Azmin and those aligned with him.
In a tweet, Azmin said despite what happened at the PKR congress this weekend, he still recognises Anwar as president.
“I need to negotiate (with) and talk to him. I will do that, and I will continue to do so.” – December 8, 2019.
