THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) admitted its mistake of submitting a letter that reported on two cases of graft involving two PKR members, but the report was not retracted, said Saifuddin Nasution.

The PKR secretary-general said the disciplinary board decided to expel Zakaria Abdul Hamid and Ismail Duhladi after being briefed by the anti-graft body.

“The report was requested that the head of department to look into the statements received by MACC.

“And there were suggestions for disciplinary action to be taken based on the party’s code of conduct,” said Saifuddin in Penang when reading out the report from MACC dated October 23.

He was responding to a memorandum submitted by 20 party central committee members who are against the sacking of Zakaria and Ismail after MACC admitted that it had made a mistake in its recommendation.

Saifuddin said MACC had stated in its report to PKR the name of the offender, the offence, the date and venue of the alleged wrongdoing and people it had questioned in investigations.

Saifuddin read out the MACC report that stated Zakaria had allegedly been offered a RM20,000 project involving the Public Works Department.

He said there was also a statement of claim by the deputy public prosecutor who had recommended that action be taken against Zakaria.

The PKR secretary-general said the letter was read out at its leadership council meeting.

He said Zakaria had two weeks to appeal the disciplinary board decision.

“If he does, the party’s disciplinary board will then review it and make its recommendations to the supreme council,” he said. – November 30, 2019.

  • PH is like BN, what is the difference. Until we realize that Malaysia cannot be "great again" unless Malaysians recognize that Chinese, Indian , Eurasian and the indigenous community( collective) with the Malay population make Malaysia dynamic. Not one race should be in charge of the affairs of the state. Look what happened the last 60 years.
We need a top positions in the executive branch to include bright Non-Malays. This will ensure, we dont have the same problems as we did with UMNO running the show. I would think a smart Indian or Chinese Anti-corruption officer who is independent of the executive run the show. Bigger jails for politicians and their children.
When you have smart people running the show, you will get good results. We have durian pickers in the cabinet today, That is what is wrong.
