Non-Malay parties can clear the air on new deal, says Hadi

PAS and Umno expect its non-Muslim partners to do the heavy lifting in explaining the new deal to non-Muslim Malaysians.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said non-Malay parties from Barisan Nasional (BN) and Gagasan Sejahtera must play their roles and explain the new deal to their supporters.

“The presence of non-Malay and non-Muslim parties will clear things up,” said Hadi during his speech at the Putra World Trade Centre today.

PAS and Umno officially signed the national charter today, detailing the form of cooperation between the two largest Malay-Muslim parties in the country.

Hadi said in addition to the misunderstanding by non-Malays, there are also Malay groups which are being used and refuse to understand the pact.

“These Malays either cannot understand our pact or are used by other parties to oppose it.”

Hadi said non-Malays and non-Muslims have nothing to fear from the pact.

“Non-Malays and non-Muslims should not be overly concerned as their rights are protected in the Quran and the federal constitution.”

There are certain political leaders and individuals who deliberately played up racial and religious issues, he said.

“What we fear is that there are parties and individuals who are openly challenging Islam, Malay rights and the positions of the monarchs in this country.

“Muslims, who have lost their identity, also play a similar role to undermine the concept of racial domination with Islam.”

These parties should be rejected in the next general election, he said.

“People of various races should reject these individuals in the next elections.”

Hadi, however, didn’t name any individual or party. – September 14, 2019.

This arrangement will fall back to BN style of distributing the perks and benefits among top leaders of component parties. All leaders will bribe through means and ways to secure divisional chief and central committee in order to have a fair share of the benefits cum authority. The mass getting nasi lemak and teh tarik. Look at the riches collected by the BN top leaders, u would know their greed for power and money is crystal clear. They will put Malaysia down in the drains as compared to other countries but continue shouting they are the best in the country. Because we have very stupid voters continue to support whoever can give them some pocket money once a while. We have a bunch of lazy and unproductive people that contribute nothing if not liabilities to the progress of the nation.

  • The pact and its justification by PAS and UNNO is just an excuse for the continuation of the Ketuanan Melayu doctrine. Any self respecting human being which includes non-Muslims will reject this evil and morally repugnant alliance because it divides humanity, is racially exclusive and smacks of apartheid and encourages racial discrimination within a multi-racial society. All citizens who subscribe to a progessive, diverse multi-cultural Malaysia will not buy what UMNO and PAS is selling because the alliance is divisive and will not unite the nation.

  • Hadi u must be joking, non muslims rights are protected under Quran, like boycotting Non Muslim products. What successes islam can show us on the business and technology innovation? U will be last person I want to hear from on any advice is required.

  • Hadi, you do not 'own' the narrative on what is Islam. Your narrative on Islam is abhorrent. Why can't you just be upfront and honest that this is a mere political strategy? Why do you have to hide behind the jubbah of religion?
