AN anonymous caller contacted police this morning to says there was a bomb at the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex, leading the authorities to evacuate the area.

Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner S. Shanmugamoorthy confirmed this as his men combed the complex’s vast area.

“At 11am, we received a phone call from an unknown man at the TTDI (Taman Tun Dr Ismail) police headquarters. The man notified us of the threat and we immediately mobilised the Bomb Disposal Unit,” he said.

“We do not know who the caller was. Let us do our job first,” he added.

The complex was evacuated at 12.30pm, disrupting all court cases for the day, notably Najib Razak’s SRC International trial.

On how long it would take before the all-clear sign was given, Shanmugamoorthy motioned to the court complex and said that it was a big complex and the task would definitely take some time. – July 25, 2019.
