THE main problem with Umno is its members attack one another instead of focusing their energy on bringing down Pakatan Harapan, party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has said.

According to Zahid, the problem stems from the inability of its members to deal with differing views from other members, creating factions within the party.

“Our problem now is that we don’t attack the enemy,” he said opening the Umno Tambun delegates meeting in Ipoh Perak today.

“Instead of using the bullets we have against our opponents, we are busy shooting our party comrades, which has led to factions.”

He said party members should be able to cope with this and not let it lead to divisions, adding that all party state chapters were to hold their meeting before the party’s general assembly.

“Give our friends at division level, who are not general assembly delegates, a chance to speak, so we can hear their voices.

“They also want to see Umno and Barisan Nasional win the general election,” he said. – July 7, 2019

  • You're missing the point Mr ZH. The party wants a clean and fresh start. New leaders, merit based. Not corrupt, not populist and more honest, transparent, inclusive and more centrist. Why even I might join you if that were ever the case!
