THE Armed Forces Fund Board’s (LTAT) 2018 audit report is full of lies, the defence minister said last night.
Mohamad Sabu said the LTAT financial audit report will be declared again as the previous report was fabricated.
The army’s pension fund audit report declared last year did not reflect the real financial situation, Mohamad or Mat Sabu said while campaigning in Kg Mambau for the Rantau by-election.
Mohamad said the Malays should not blame the Chinese leaders for this, taking a dig at the previous Barisan Nasional administration.
“Who was in the pension fund? Malays or Chinese? Who stole? Who is lying? You steal and you cheat and then you blame the Chinese,” he said in his speech.
“How long do you want to keep playing (racial) politics like that? Like we (the government) don’t have the pride to defend the Malays.”
Tabung Haji also suffered the same fate as LTAT as BN manipulated its books to give out a 6% dividend while the fund sustained billions in losses, he said.
LTAT declared a dividend and bonus payout of 12.5% in 2017, higher than the 11.3% it has been averaging since it was set up 45 years ago.
The payout consisted of 6% dividend and a 6.5% special bonus.
Mat Sabu was drumming up support for Pakatan Harapan candidate Dr S. Streram in Saturday’s by-election.
The other candidates are BN’s Mohamad Hasan, who is the former Negri Sembilan menteri besar and acting Umno president, and two independents R. Malarvizhi and Mohd Nor Yassin. – April 8, 2019.
