“UNJUST” is how Najib Razak describes the RM1.5 billion tax penalty imposed on him.

The former prime minister said he will seek a review of the bill, as he finds the accounting standards and definition of “income” used by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) questionable.

“We will seek a review and specific remedy under due process because the basis of the calculation and the definition of ‘income’ are very much questionable,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

Najib, who is also Pekan MP, said he will provide evidence that a portion of his income came from a donation.

“Of course, everything will be done according to facts.”

It was reported that IRB served Najib a bill for RM1.5 billion over his failure to declare RM4 billion in income.

The taxable sum includes the RM2.6 billion discovered in his bank account in 2013.

The Edge Financial Daily, quoting sources, said the tax bill is for the 2011-2017 period, and sent to Najib about two weeks ago. – April 2, 2019.

  • The time has finally came where you will have to live how your voters actually lived. How they have to suffer to earn a single cent but to share with your government as GST and other taxes. And, Income taxes.
