PAKATAN Harapan’s Muhammad Aiman Zainali has vowed to continue serving Semenyih folk despite losing today’s by-election.

Calling his defeat to Barisan Nasional’s Zakaria Hanafi “unfortunate”, the Bersatu man said he will try to deliver on the promises made to constituents.

“God willing, I will try to deliver on the promises that we’ve made to the people of Semenyih. I will continue to do my best for the people here.”

He thanked the PH leadership and machinery for backing him in the polls, which were necessitated by the death of the pact’s assemblyman, Bakhtiar Mohd Nor, in January.

Bakhtiar was Aiman’s father-in-law.

“I want to say thank you to the PH top leadership, especially Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Muhyiddin Yassin, and the machinery, which worked hard in this by-election,” Aiman told reporters at PH’s operations centre in Bandar Rinching.

“Thank you to the voters of Semenyih, too.”

He added that he will not quit politics, and will keep up efforts to strengthen Bersatu in Semenyih.

  • Brush up on your politician skills first if you want to continue to be in politics. The vultures are out there waiting to attack the naive and the ignorant.
