CAMERON Highlands by-election candidate Ramli Mohd Noor will not stop anyone from campaigning for him, including former prime minister Najib Razak.

He said all are welcome to campaign for him. Asked if that includes former the disgraced BN chairman Najib Razak, Ramli said yes.

“We can’t stop anyone. It doesn’t matter who; all are welcome,” he said during a walkabout in Tanah Rata today.

The by-election on January 26 is a four-cornered fight between Ramli, Pakatan Harapan’s M. Manogaran, and independents Sallehudin Ab Talib and Wong Seng Yee.

Asked if he was confident of getting the support of the Orang Asli, who make up 22% of the voters, Ramli said he was certain of it.

“From Bertam to Kampung Hulu, all are my relatives.

“Im confident the 22% Orang Asli voters will support me

“As for the other races I can’t gauge their support as I have yet to meet them.”

Ramli started his campaign at 9am with a visit to the morning market before heading to the row of shops and food court in Tanah Rata.

He was cordially welcomed by the shopkeepers and their customers.

There are 32,008 voters in Cameron Highlands, of which 34.4% are Malay, 29.8% Chinese, 14.8% Indian and 22% Orang Asli. – January 13, 2019.
