PUTRAJAYA would not hesitate to take action against those who threaten the peace and harmony of the country, said Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
She said the people had entrusted the government government with the task of restoring justice and economic prosperity in Malaysia.
“This peace and stability we enjoy is our collective responsibility.
“The government will not hesitate to take action against those who threaten the peace and harmony in this country.
“Fake news, inflammatory messages and messages that stoke religious hatred have no place in Malaysia Baru,” she said at Christmas high-tea at the Luther Centre in Petaling Jaya, today.
She said the government would do what it took to achieve its vision of a new Malaysia.
She said the government is also committed to instilling greater mutual respect and harmony among the various races in the country.
“Let us continue to show the world that unity in diversity is a Malaysian trademark.”
Dr Wan Azizah said so far, peace had prevailed even during challenging times.
“We changed the government peacefully, without any bloodshed during the May 9 general election.
“Peace prevailed because we stood together in the decisive moment to change the government.” – December 25, 2018.
