PKR members lodge complaints against Latheefa Koya

PKR members have lodged disciplinary complaints against Latheefa Koya over her accusation of cronyism and nepotism in the appointment of party state chiefs.

PKR divisions from Klang and Indera Mahkota this morning submitted their complaints to the party headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

These two divisions were supported by the Cabang Paya Besar, Kelana Jaya, and Kuala Langat divisions.

They want the party’s disciplinary board to punish Latheefa for making statements that put the party in a bad light.

“Her statement characterises Anwar Ibrahim as a party president who practices cronyism and nepotism.

“But the president was only following the party constitution which allows him to make the appointment after discussion with division leaders in the states,” said Klang PKR information chief Mohd Farazi Shah.

He said while criticism was allowed within the party, Latheefa’s media statement was undignified and unfavourable to the party’s image.

“Everyone can criticise or give their opinions of the leadership, but it has to be through the right channels.

“She should have used other channels without manipulating the media. We do not want open challenges through social media or to openly show weakness within the party. ” he said.

He said Latheefa’s remarks had damaged the party’s image.

Latheefa’s statement on Monday said that the appointment of state party chiefs lacked transparency and appeared to favour candidates aligned to Rafizi Ramli.

She said besides state leaders in Sarawak and Selangor, all other state chiefs appointed by Anwar “are known to be aligned to one of the two main factions in PKR”. – December 20, 2018.
