DEFEATED PKR deputy president candidate Rafizi Ramli should be given a position in the top leadership, said president Anwar Ibrahim.

He said this is because Rafizi has contributed a lot to the party especially during the 14th general election.

“Look at Rafizi’s record in Invoke and his exposes on Barisan Nasional-Umno scandals. We should bring him into the top leadership,” Anwar said in his speech on the last day of the PKR annual congress today.

The deputy president’s race was a heated one with Rafizi and incumbent Azmin Ali battling next and neck until the final week when Rafizi conceded defeat.

Anwar urged party members to put aside any differences during the polls and focus instead on being united to strengthen the party.

The Port Dickson MP said Azmin should have the support of all leaders as he now had the mandate as deputy president.

“The majority picked Azmin. So, we should fully support him.

“This should not be only in the central committee but also across the states,” Anwar said. – November 18, 2018.

  • We loved Rafizi and pitied him for not being able to run in GE14. He became somewhat disappointing because of his scheming behaviour to move to the top and to get closer to the leadership.

    • Perhaps that is his true colour. After all the hard work to change the government, we cannot afford to have the wrong leaders. Better to keep Rafizi in the cold storage.
