NAJIB Razak is living in denial by continuing to profess his innocence over the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal, said Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng.
He said Najib continued to remain resolute even after multiple parties have admitted to their wrongdoing.
“Can you believe his final statement, which I find is a complete state of denial, that 1MDB will allow Malaysia to profit and earn money?
Najib also had demanded for the Finance Ministry to release documents on the settlement agreement between Abu Dhabi’s International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) and 1MDB.
Lim reiterated the documents could not be released as it will be sub judice in local and international courts as the matter was before trial in several jurisdictions.
“He wants us to reveal the documents which will of course prejudice the ongoing court trials as well as court charges against himself and also other people.
“Not just in the country but also internationally. As I said on this issue before, we have no problems with releasing document but we have also to abide by the advice given by the attorney-general,” he said. – November 14, 2018.
