PKR will commission an independent audit of the party election process and results, said party communications director Fahmi Fadzil.
He said the PKR political bureau made the decision in a meeting tonight.
“PKR will announce the independent auditor soon,” he said in a statement after the meeting.
Meanwhile, the party elections committee has accepted the poll results in Julau in Sarawak, and Pensiangan and Tawau in Sabah.
Fahmi said the party would ully cooperate with the agencies investigating the PKR polls, such as the police, Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
“The political bureau has ordered the elections committee to immediately resolve the question of suspicious votes in certain divisions by calling representatives of the two deputy president candidates to observe the process.
“Regarding the ‘missing votes’ raised by Akmal Nasir and others in the press conference earlier today, the PKR political bureau has ordered Baker Tilly, which has affirmed the integrity of the election system, to investigate and give an immediate response.”
Earlier today PKR Youth chief candidate Akmal Nasir had claimed that the missing votes were “planned” to affect Rafizi Ramli’s chances at winning the deputy president’s post.
He said a total of 11,422 votes for the deputy presidency were missing in the polls which took place at 40 divisions.
Meanwhile, elections committee deputy chairman Dr Adman Hedra said 90% of suspicious votes were from non-members.
He said the committee had been given 48 hours to settle the matter of 12,000 voters who had voted using “Borang 11”.
“There are a lot of phantom voters. Out of the 7,500 forms we have gone through, 90% are unacceptable.” – November 13, 2018.
