THE Pakatan Harapan government will never move forward if it keeps blaming the previous administration for all that ails the country now, said Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa.
He agreed with Council of Eminent Persons chairman Daim Zainuddin that PH should concentrate on delivering on its promises and forget the past.
He said Daim’s statement was apt, reflecting the former minister’s concern for the government.
“If it (PH) just keeps blaming the previous government, it will never move forward,” Annuar said at the Parliament lobby today.
“I am happy with the statement because it means Daim is very concerned about the government’s performance.”
On Thursday, Daim said PH should move forward and deliver on its manifesto promises instead of harping on the past.
Annuar said Daim’s remarks were “very fair”.
“And, I think that should be the way, because at the end of the day, the government must deliver.”
Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin has lauded Daim’s statement, saying PH should get its act together as the new government is fast approaching its first year in power.
He said Malaysians are getting tired of the government pointing the finger at Barisan Nasional for the country’s woes.
“If there is any wrongdoing, then take action in court. They have already charged (former prime minister) Najib (Razak) in court.” – November 12, 2018.
