THE Pakatan Harapan government should not stop airing its views on the previous administration, said Anwar Ibrahim.
While Council of Eminent Persons chairman Daim Zainuddin was right to tell PH to stop playing the blame game, the new government has to deal with what Barisan Nasional had done when it was in power, said the Port Dickson MP.
“Daim’s point is correct, that it (blaming BN) should not be an obsession because people want to know what’s next, what are the plans for the present and future.
“But that should not stop us from expressing our views or coming out with new evidence,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.
On Thursday, Daim said PH should focus on delivering on its promises and stop pointing the finger at BN for the challenges that the current administration has to tackle.
Anwar said current ministers have to reflect on the “excesses of the past” to deal with the country’s present situation.
“I think as a policy decision, I think that’s correct but there are cases, strong compelling cases to prove that because of the excesses of the past, we have to endure and deal with the present.”
He added that the current government is facing financial constraints which are linked to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.
“Of course, 1MDB will come up. Then, we have to respond to the recent charge.” – November 12, 2018.
