DR Mahathir Mohamad today said former international trade and industry minister Rafidah Aziz is always welcome to join Bersatu.

The prime minister and Bersatu chairman said Rafidah has been working with the party for a long time and spoken up against the previous Barisan Nasional administration.

“We welcome her. She has been working with us for a long time,” he told reporters after officiating at the World Chinese Economic Forum in Kuala Lumpur.

Dr Mahathir, who is also Pakatan Harapan chairman, said he cannot promise any party post for Rafidah, but is certain she will join Bersatu.

“I dont know about posts, but she will be a member.”

It was reported yesterday that Rafidah said she is keen to sign up with Bersatu, but has not had time to get the membership form.

The former Wanita Umno head also said she will not seek positions, as she has retired from politics. – November 9, 2018.
