SOCIAL media users questioned Najib Razak for not knowing the source of the RM2.6billion found in his bank account, which traced back to troubled state investment fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

They took to Facebook and said the former prime minister was just telling lies throughout the interview, which he walked out of at the end.

Zuma Yin said Najib was making up stories and his body language throughout the session said it all.

Tom Says cynically agreed to Najib not knowing the source of the fund and had no access to the banking information.

“Yes sure, you really have no access to banking knowledge and you don’t know the source of the US$681 million (RM2.6 billion).

“Sure, of course, absolutely, definitely, no doubt…. LOL. So if you dunno the source, how in the World of Arab Donation did you know where and to who you returned US$620million of your American Pie donation???”

Meanwhile, Harjun Singh asked how can Najib not know of the source, since he also held the minister of finance portfolio.

“How can you not know anything about where the money comes from??

“You’re minister of finance 1mdb chairman, you assume someone is gonna give you a nice big cheque and have fun with it?

“Who in their right mind would give u billions of money to enjoy! Guy is a freaking joke.” he said.

In the hour-long grilling on the 101 East programme, which saw Najib lose his cool a few times, he said he did not verify the source of the RM2.6 billion found in his bank account as he had assumed it to be a donation from the late Saudi king Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Saud, who had assured him of his royal support.

On his walkout from the interview, Alan Tan WS said Najib would not have had any fear if he was “innocent and honest”.

“If u did not made anything wrong , why u need to scare and run away ??” said another user, Ken Chan.

Earlier today, Najib walked out of the interview claiming that the programme was not being fair to him.

He later apologised, taking to Facebook to say he was concerned about his family at the time. – October 27, 2018.

  • You should have just kept to frothy mouth shut Najib! You thought you could wiggle your way through such an interview by a renowned reporter. You and your cacophony of FB postings have been annoying Malaysians. Save your defence for court. Let's see how you handle Gopal Sri Ram and you'll try to twist there. I don't think even Shafee will be handle Gopal Sri Ram.

  • Judging from how he handled himself in the Al-Jazeera interview, he will be just torn to shreds in Court. It's so apparent from the body language and his answers that he is as guilty as hell.

  • Big mistake to take up the interview when you know your answers will not be consistent. You know you will are expected to be grilled on 1MDB, Jho Low etc your advisors have surely failed big time or may be set up by them? If you cannot ascertain the source of the donation then to whom you return the money? As the saying If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen...fast.
