THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should not be blamed for the recent series of arrests of Umno leaders.
Padang Rengas MP Nazri Aziz said one should respect and accept the actions taken by the graft busters.
“To me, we have to respect what the MACC is doing.
Nazri said he knew the body was independent as he had been de facto law minister and looked over the MACC.
“If we respect the MACC’s independence, we have to accept (its actions),” Nazri added.
Among the Umno leaders called up by the MACC are former prime minister Najib Razak and his former deputy, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Najib had been slapped with 32 charges related to money laundering, corruption and abuse of power while Zahid claimed trial to 45 counts of criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering involving RM114.15 million. β October 22, 2018.
