DAP is a “political dustbin” that only collected votes during the 14th general election from the Chinese community because they rejected Barisan Nasional, said a former MCA president.
Former health minister Dr Chua Soi Lek said the Chinese community only wanted to change the government and gave their vote to DAP as a means of doing so.
“DAP was lucky to collect the votes. DAP became a political dustbin, collecting votes from the Chinese who just cannot stand BN, cannot stand MCA. They just wanted to change the government,” he said during a press conference after the launch of his memoir, Like me or Hate me: Rising from the Political Ashes, today.
He said DAP benefitted from the failures of today’s MCA leaders to address issues such as the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), Felda and Mara scandals.
“Before the election, they were all talking about the One Road, One Belt in China. They didn’t talk about the increasing cost of living. None of them dared to talk about 1MDB, none of them dared to address Felda problems, none of them dared to address Mara problems. That is why the people got fed up,” Chua said.
The former Labis lawmaker said MCA had to break away from BN’s clutches to stand a fighting chance in the next election.
“Umno should be aware that the BN name is no longer a political brand name. MCA is also no longer a political brand name. All parties should leave (the coalition) and transform themselves,” Chua said.
The 71-year-old also said it would only be a matter of time before people began judging the performance of the Pakatan Harapan government.
“Now that they have changed the government, after this honeymoon period, the people will become critical. How will PH’s performance measure up to BN at a later stage?” Chua said, while suggesting the party be prepared to capitalise on the moment should backlash against the pact surface. – October 21, 2018.

Soi Lek, you are really testing the intelligence of the people by calling such names. Dont you think the people can see through your ulterior motives..
For a seasoned politician, you must be quite stupid.. and if all the politicians in MCA are as stupid as you, then we all know the reasons for MCAs outstandingly disastrous performance during the last election.
