Police summon Lokman Adam for insulting Dr Mahathir, Anwar

MALAYSIAN authorities have summoned Lokman Noor Adam for questioning after he allegedly made offensive remarks against Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Lokman, who is the president of Umno-backed pressure group Pemantau Malaysia Baru, said two investigative officers from the Subang and Port Dickson police stations met him at the Commercial Crimes Department on Jalan Tun Razak this morning.

“Two investigative officers took my statement relating to two police reports lodged against me,” he told The Malaysian Insight.

“The first is about my statement that Dr Mahathir has no ‘balls’ (is a coward) for not approving the registration of Pemantau Malaysia Baru.

“Another is regarding my posting on Facebook about the sodomy allegations involving Anwar Ibrahim,” said Lokman.

PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil had earlier lodged a police report against the Umno Supreme Council member following Lokman’s statement on Facebook, which accused Anwar of sodomising an Indonesian student in Singapore.

Lokman claimed to have gotten the news from Berita mediacorp Singapore. Mediacorp later denied publishing such a news report and had told Lokman to remove the post. – October 3, 2018.

  • Insulting TDM & DSAI should not be viewed as criminal offences and it's high time we abolish the ridiculous Sedition Act. However, being a massive public annoyance ought to be.
