UNDER clear, blue skies, the spirit of patriotism, national struggle, identity and anti-corruption was on full show at the 62nd Merdeka Day parade this year.
With the theme “Sayangi Malaysiaku: Malaysia Bersih (Love Our Malaysia: A Clean Malaysia)”, the celebration in Putrajaya Square also featured four components to support that aspiration, namely nationhood, public order, national security and “Love Our Malaysia: A Clean Malaysia”.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who was officially installed as the 16th ruler of the nation on July 30, also graced the event, along with the royal consort.
