Rohingya’s quest for education

MORE than 150 children are receiving a basic education at the Al-Ikhlas Selayang Rohingya Refugee School.
Although lacking documents, these refugees are determined to gain knowledge because education is key to a brighter future.
Recently, the government announced a strategic plan to help Rohingya children in Malaysia receive an education.
Described as one of the world’s most-persecuted minorities by the United Nations in 2013, it is estimated that close to two million Rohingya have fled Myanmar since the late 1970s because of violence and persecution. – August 14, 2019.
