ALL states in the peninsula except Perlis, Pahang and Kelantan have been placed under the conditional movement-control order (CMCO) from November 9 to December 6, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

With the latest move to control the Covid-19 pandemic, the public can no longer perform interstate and inter-district travel.

“The National Security Council has agreed to implement CMCO on all states in the peninsula except for three states, Perlis, Pahang and Kelantan,” he said during his daily press conference today.

He said with the latest move, the partial lockdown imposed in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and the Federal Territories will also continue after it expires on Monday.

“As for Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur currently observing the CMCO, they will have to follow the new order until December 6,” Ismail Sabri added.

Previously, all the areas were placed under CMCO after a spike in Covid-19 cases.

The partial lockdown was first imposed from October 14 for two weeks, and it has since been extended until Monday.

Ismail Sabri said those in Perlis, Pahang and Kelantan can only travel within their own state and cannot cross beyond its borders.

“These three states are still under recovery movement-control order so they can travel inter-district but they can’t go beyond the state borders,” he said.

Meanwhile, commenting on Sarawak, Ismail Sabri said the public can still perform inter-district travel but they are barred from entering Kuching, which currently has a high number of infection.

He reiterated that all schools are closed under the CMCO and outdoor activities are limited.

However as for religious ceremonies, Ismail Sabri said the matter will be handled by the state administrations.

“As for congregational prayer or Friday prayers, it will be handled by the state as matters concerning religion fall under the power of the sultan,” he added. – November 7, 2020.
