ABDUL Hadi Awang said it is compulsory for Muslims to oppose Putrajaya’s efforts to ratify the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).
The PAS president said ratification of ICERD would place Islam on the “same level” as other religions in the country.
“Unfortunately, there are Muslims who don’t understand or pretend not to understand… they want to fight for equality by making Islam the same as other religions.
“We must oppose (ICERD) because it is compulsory for Muslims to say that Islam is correct. We can give rights to other religions but to say that other religions are the same as Islam is unacceptable.
“This is a line we cannot cross,” he was quoted as saying by the New Straits Times during a ceramah at Masjid Abidin on the eve of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in Kuala Terengganu.
Hadi said ICERD must not be ratified in Malaysia as it would be unfair for the country.
“We have to understand that fairness must be applied properly. (For example), parents with 10 children are not the same as parents with three children. We cannot give all parents the same things in the name of fairness.
“The Bumiputera Muslims are lagging behind. The (British) colonisers gave us poor learning facilities while the non-Muslims were placed in cities to control trade, industry, the ports and many more.
PAS and Umno, the country’s two biggest Malay political parties, will hold a rally to protest against Malaysia’s plan to ratify ICERD in the capital on December 8.
Both parties held a joint rally on Saturday in Pasir Salak to protest against the proposed ratification of ICERD
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said implementing ICERD would require amending the federal constitution, something almost impossible to do.
A two-thirds parliamentary majority is needed for this to happen, he said.
He said this is nearly impossible to achieve given the Dewan Rakyat’s composition, and the protests raised by both government and opposition lawmakers over ICERD.
“Only with the support of the opposition can we have a two-thirds majority and even then, government members themselves may not support it. So, I feel that it’s almost impossible for us to achieve the two-thirds majority necessary (to amend the constitution),” he said on Sunday. – November 20, 2018.

UMNO = Parti Syaitan.
No surprise Kelantan is the worst performing state in Malaysia. The imbeciles MB and the excos are all Maly Muslims and no women in the state cabinet. All the morns can think is " tutup aurat" and attending parayer and dreaming of after life. No surprise Kelantan ( in comparison to toher states in Malaysia) has the most number of drug addicts , most number of HIV patient secondary to drug use , most uneducated population , most unemployed , highest debt owed to the Federal Government.

Obviously, the weak state is due to the poor administration and corrupt leaders of 70 years. The Article 153 is more a curse than one that brings prosperity to the Malays.

The Bumiputera Muslims are lagging behind because you and PAS misled them with your wrong interpretations of Islam.
The British colonial had left 61 years ago.
You fed your followers with Amanat Hadi during the Memali Incident, no?
