AN express boat berthed beside another boat on fire was saved by the Sibu Fire and Rescue Services Department today.

The incident occurred at 6.40am at the Jalan Khoo Peng Loong express wharf terminal, reports The Star.

The department despatched nine personnel to the scene, according to the report.

Both boats were towed to the middle of Sg Igan where the firemen took 30 minutes to put out the flames. 

There were no passengers on both boats as they were scheduled to leave for Kapit later in the day. – November 14, 2018.
