1MDB unknowingly sent money to Good Star not once, but twice. In 2009, the company sent Good Star US$700 million and then in 2011, it transferred another US$330 million. That’s more than US$1 billion, into the wrong account.

Former 1MDB CEO Shahrol Halmi, however, maintained that he was under the impression that Good Star was a subsidiary of PetroSaudi. Hence he had no reason to be suspicious of anything. – November 7, 2019.
