Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan is new Kuala Lumpur mayor

FORMER Subang Jaya Municipal Council president Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan has been appointed the 12th mayor of Kuala Lumpur. 

Nor Hisham received the appointment letter earlier today, said Federal Territories Minister Khalid Samad. 

“It is Nor Hisham. I have just given him the appointment letter,” he told The Malaysian Insight today. 

Nor Hisham replaces Amin Nordin Abd Aziz, who tendered his resignation on September 1. 

Amin, 63, was to retire on July 18 last year but his service was extended on contract for two years up to July next year.

Nor Hisham served with the Subang council from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, he was the Gombak district officer.

He has 37 years’ experience in various federal and state agencies, including the Gombak Land and District Office, Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department, the Federal Territories Ministry and the Selangor State Secretariat Office. – September 28, 2018.

  • Can we the rate payers have transparency as to how the selection and appointment process was undertaken. TMI should have inquired on this.
