THE acting president of Sabah’s Liberal Democratic Party, Chin Su Phin, said he had been questioned by police over RM3.5 million given to the party by former prime minister Najib Razak.

The funds, given sometime in 2013, were purportedly from the 1 Malaysia Development Board (1MDB).

“Yes, I was called in for questioning. Not by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission but the police.

“It was over the money given by (former prime minister) Najib,” he told The Malaysian Insight.

The police are presently questioning party leaders over alleged funds given to parties ahead of elections.

A blogger today wrote that Chin had been quizzed by the MACC and that more leaders will be called in as authorities widen their investigations into the 1MDB scandal.

The funds for LDP were said to have been cleared by former president Liew Vui Keong, who is now the federal government’s law minister.

The blogger, Hussein Abdul Hamid, said that money was also given to United Pasok Momogun KadazanDusun Murut Organisation (Upko).

He by said the cheques were issued by Umno treasurer Salleh Said Keruak. – September 25, 2018.
