PAKATAN Harapan should be grateful that there was a smooth transition of power after the 14th general election, said Umno Youth at the Seri Setia by-election finale ceramah last night.

Umno Youth chief Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said no chaos erupted when PH won on May 9.

If Barisan Nasional (BN) won GE14 and retained power, it might have been doomsday, he said.

“The PH government should be grateful. We all are thankful because the transfer of power happened peacefully. There was no chaos, there was no demonstration.

“If BN had won that day, Malaysia will face doomsday (kiamat). But we ensured everything went smoothly and peacefully,” he said in Shah Alam yesterday.

A crowd of 200 heard speeches from Youth leaders from Umno, Pas, Ikatan and MIC at the final day of campaigning.

Dr Halimah Ali (PAS) faces PKR’s Halimey Abu Bakar today for the Seri Setia state seat which became vacant following the death of Prof Shaharuddin Badaruddin from cancer on August 2.

Asyraf also highlighted the ministers giving Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad a “headache”.

He singled out Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik, who recently came under fire, over his appointment as president of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) earlier this week.

Asyraf attacked Maszlee’s failure to live up to the promise not to appoint any political appointee in universities.

“But it turns out today the person who became UIA’s president is the impang Renggam MP, who is also the education minister.

“This is no longer a shocking government. This is a government of lies.”

Asyraf added that he does not blame Dr Mahathir for retaining the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) even after 100 days as the prime minister does not trust his own ministers.

Dr Mahathir said recently the CEP is still needed as its members have vast experience to sort out important issues. – September 8, 2018.

  • Dusuki is a dumbo for making statements like PH should be grateful for peaceful transition!
I cant relate to his lack of intelligence. This is what we have in Umno youth. He is a Dr at that.
And what is he saying... if BN had won, it would be doomsday for Msia! Actually hes Right. They would have continued to plunder the country and make it into a bankrupt!
