THERE is no plot to deny Anwar Ibrahim the prime minister post, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail told conspiracy theorists today.

She said her husband, Anwar, has sacrificed much and should be enjoying his victory now.

“We (with Dr Mahathir Mohamad) have formed the new government. Isn’t that more important?

“Accusations of such a plot should not be raised. We need to move the nation forward,” she said after attending Aidiladha prayers at Surau Al-Falah in Pandan this morning.

The outgoing PKR president also urged Malaysians to embrace the spirit of Aidiladha today and the Merdeka Day celebrations on August 31.

On Monday, Anwar himself clarified that there was no plot to stop him from becoming the next prime minister, saying these were baseless.

He then urged Kapar MP Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid to retract his remarks concerning the supposed plot involving Putrajaya’s chief adviser, Daim Zainuddin, and Prime Minister Dr Mahathir.

Abdullah apologised yesterday to Dr Mahathir for making such claims.

He earlier said there were parties stopping Anwar from succeeding Dr Mahathir.

Ijok assemblyman Idris Ahmad, also from PKR, also charged that Dr Mahathir and Daim had “sponsored” some PKR leaders to destroy the party internally.

Their claims were that both Dr Mahathir and Daim preferred PKR deputy president Azmin Ali to Anwar.

Both Dr Mahathir and Daim have brushed off these allegations.

Both Abdullah and Idris are supporters of Rafizi Ramli, who is challenging Azmin for the PKR deputy president’s post in the party elections.

Rafizi’s team-mates are campaigning on the platform that only they can ensure Anwar will become the next prime minister.

Pakatan Harapan parties agreed that Anwar would replace Dr Mahathir as prime minister. – August 22, 2018.

  • Azizah statement is a joke. The public are not stupid. This is the basic problem with politicians : they all assume the public are dumb.

  • To stop all this foolish nonscences , Rafizi is the one responsible to put an end to it. He should forthrightly announce his detachment from all the trouble rouser. Anwar himself should tell both Rafizi and Azmin to take each other head on but on merits and show case what they have in store for the party and country. Anwar should stop on the subject of his Prime Minister yearning as he has long way to go on capturing a parliament seat and it is still up to the rakayt to determine who should be the 8th PM. What has been agreed on in PH of PM designated are not casted in hard concrete and beautifully offered on a silver plate without validations of befitting credentials. One has to earn the unanimous nominations and prove on the strong capabilities with competency to hold such position. Lets stop all the conservative and obsolete system since the days of Umno regime where a President of a party holds all the rights without a challenge to be a PM. That is why Umno faltered because they do not have caliber leaders and thru the law of nature it unraveled with the country almost on the verge of destructions due to nepotism and dynasty building. Let the Rakyat holds the right to determine. If one is competent and good nothing can stop. So Anwar !!!!! what is that to fear and for you to keep on harping directly or indirectly that cause so much of disagreement within your party and the country on your ascension to the games of throne in the Premiership ???????????????

  • The problem with Anwar is that he is a chameleon who creates distrust every where.

Why did he entertain so many people offering him a parliamentary seat? Why did he has camps? dWhy did he give an interview with Utusan, to please Umno old buddies? In short, why cant he shit up and wait ?
