WORKS Minister Baru Bian has appointed Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How and former Inanam assemblyman Roland Chia as his special officers in Sarawak and Sabah, respectively.
In a statement, Baru said both See and Chia had accepted the appointments on a “pro bono basis” – a definition commonly used with lawyers meaning for free.
Baru said both See and Chia, who did not defend his seat in the May 9 general election, were now authorised to represent him “in matters under the purview of the Ministry of Works in Sarawak and Sabah”.
“The main purpose of this appointment is to assist me in addressing all matters or issues that require my attention and action without being hindered by protocol, especially the views, recommendations and suggestions of those from the ground who have no direct access to my ministry,” he said. – August 18, 2018.
