HOME Minister Muhyiddin Yassin may undergo chemotherapy after a tumour was removed from his pancreas last month, said Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The prime minister said Muhyiddin is expected to be away from work for a prolonged period.

“This kind of disease, the treatment period is long.

“He will have a follow-up treatment. He may be on chemotherapy,” Dr Mahathir told reporters in a press conference at Bersatu headquarters.

Dr Mahathir did not elaborate further on the matter.

Muhyiddin, who is Bersatu president, is recovering from a surgery to remove a pancreatic tumour, which was detected at an early stage.

The Pagoh MP went on leave from July 12 for treatment in Singapore and is supposed to be back in a month’s time.
