UMNO secretary-general Annuar Musa said Barisan Nasional would this week announce the members of its shadow cabinet.

He said he had yet to confirm the exact date with opposition leader Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“Wait first, wait for the announcement. I have not checked when Datuk Seri Zahid wants to begin. Wait a day or two. This week, Insyallah,” Annuar told The Malaysian Insight, today.

MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong declined to comment on when BN would reveal the members’ lineup.

“I don’t want to say anything. You ask those who are making the announcement. I might contradict (them),” the Ayer Hitam MP said at the lobby of Parliament today.

BN has said it will form a shadow cabinet to provide check and balance to the new Pakatan Harapan government.

Lawmakers from BN components Umno, MCA, MIC, and STAR are believed to have met to discuss the shadow members’ scope of responsibilities. – August 6, 2018.
