NINE directors who were political appointees under the Youth and Sports Ministry have had their services terminated, said Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

Syed said the directors were appointed by the former government under Barisan Nasional, and included Umno Youth members.

“Regarding the nine directors related to bodies at the ministry such as Subang Golf Corporation and Iyres (Institute for Youth Research Malaysia), I have given them ‘thank you’ notes and terminated their services (because) they are political appointments.

“Umno members and leaders like the Youth chief or division chief will be replaced by non-political appointees.

“I will talk more about it soon, but action will be taken,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

However, the Muar MP did not say when their services were terminated. – August 2, 2018.
