THE Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman will be appointed within two weeks, said Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Nga Kor Ming.
“On the PAC chairman and deputy, according to schedule, a motion will be brought, and it should be on August 6 or 7. We still have time,” he told reporters at Parliament today.
He said Pakatan Harapan seeks to keep its word on having an opposition lawmaker as PAC chairman.
“Our manifesto says the PAC chief should be from the opposition, to ensure checks and balances.”
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Liew Vui Keong previously said opposition leader Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was the sole name proposed by the government. – July 26, 2018.
