THOSE who have accused M. Kayveas of abusing his power in the purchase of several properties must apologise and retract their statements, or face legal action.
The myPPP president said he will give them until July 31 to remove their online posts and issue an apology, failing which, he will initiate legal action.
“They have to publicly apologise to me and others mentioned in the posts,” he said at the party’s office in Kg Attap today.
“If by the end of the month, there is no apology on social media and in newspapers, my lawyers will sue them for defamation.”
Kayveas was responding to allegations by fellow party leaders that he had abused his power in relation to property buys.
Former myPPP Youth secretary Jayaselan Rajoo lodged two reports at the Sentul police station last week, urging for an investigation to be carried out into Kayveas’ alleged abuse of power as party president in raising money to fund RM28 million worth of property purchases.
The properties are alleged to be in Malaysia, Singapore and the UK.
Kayveas said he is giving everyone a fair opportunity, following attempts to have him sacked as party president, and the ransacking of his office and theft of documents.
“They made thousands of copies of documents that they can’t make heads or tails of.
“They are concocting stories to show that a crime was committed.”
He added that he has never sold “Datuk” titles given to myPPP.
“All the titles were given to myPPP members, not outsiders.
“I want the people who have accused me to produce as proof one person I had sold the title to.
“There were three ‘Datuk Seri’ titles, and they were given to Maglin D’Cruz, Mohan Kandasamy and myself.
“In our 25 years, we’ve only gotten five ‘Tan Sri’ titles.”
He said in all his years with Barisan Nasional, he has never taken any contract, tender or project.
“I can clearly say that I don’t have any properties in any country.” – July 19, 2018.
