AN aide of a Penang DAP assemblyman has been arrested for allegedly molesting a woman.

Northeast district police chief Asst Comm Anuar Omar told reporters that a urine test was being done and the suspect would be taken to court for remand tomorrow.

The case is being probed under Section 354 of the Penal Code, which deals with assault or use of criminal force with intent to outrage modesty.

The suspect is also a former city councillor.

Earlier today, police said the man would be hauled up for investigation into the alleged incident last Thursday night at an entertainment outlet’s car park on Lebuh Pantai.

The suspect allegedly made sexual advances towards a part-time waitress while he was drunk in the 11.30pm incident.

He allegedly hugged, kissed her several times, tried to make her perform oral sex on him, and molested her. He also allegedly offered her money to spend the night with him.

The 21-year-old woman, a private college student, lodged a police report the following day. – July 13, 2017.
