DEPUTY Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mohamed Hanipa Maidin is expected to be discharged tomorrow.
Putrajaya Hospital, where Hanipa is being warded after he fainted this morning, said the deputy minister was under 24-hour observation.
The hospital said in its statement that Hanipa’s condition was stable, but did not mention what had caused him to faint.
The hospital’s statement was also posted on Hanipa’s Facebook page “Peguam PAS – Dulu”.
Earlier today, the Sepang MP’s media officer, Anas As-Said Zaharuddin, told Bernama that his boss was conscious and asked the public not to speculate on Hanipa’s health.
The deputy minister from Amanah fainted and fell off the stage just minutes into Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s monthly address at Putrajaya this morning.
A lawyer by training, Hanipa, 48, was sworn in last week as the de facto law deputy minister.
He suffered a stroke in Parliament in April 2016 and underwent a two-hour surgery for a brain haemorrhage. He returned to parliamentary duty in October 2016. – July 9, 2018.
