PENANG police are looking for a man who allegedly outraged the modesty of a waitress in George Town last Thursday evening.
Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Anuar Omar said the man would be called up today to give his statement.
Anuar said the victim who lodged the police report was a 21-year-old woman, but he did not elaborate further on the suspect.
Early today, a Facebook by a user with the profile name “Aayirattil Oruvan” – the title of a Tamil movie – posted details of the alleged crime.
The Facebook post alleged that the suspect made sexual advances on the waitress at a car park of an entertainment outlet on Lebuh Pantai on July 6.
The woman lodged a report at the Lebuh Pantai police station the next day.
She said the suspect had hugged and kissed her several times in the mouth and molested her in the 11.30pm incident.
The man, who was drunk at the time, also offered her money to spend the night with him.
The Facebook user did not identify the suspect by name, but claimed he worked for a two-term assemblyman and headed a Bukit Gelugor DAP branch.
The suspect is also the head of a village security development committee (JKKK) in Bukit Gelugor and a former city councillor. – July 13, 2017.
