MOHD Isa Abdul Samad has resigned as Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) chairman a week after he was given his ultimatum.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said Isa resigned on Monday.

“Yes, Isa Samad has resigned. Effective immediately.

“He sent his resignation letter two days ago,” he said in Putrajaya today.

Last Wednesday, Loke confirmed that SPAD would be absorbed by the Road Transport Department and that Isa must do “the honourable thing” and take the cue of Shahrir Abdul Samad, who resigned voluntarily as Felda chairman.

Isa was investigated in January over dubious transactions involving the transfer of Felda land worth RM200 million in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur, in 2015.

He was Felda chairman from 2011 to January 2017. – May 30, 2018.
