PARTI Amanah Negara (Amanah) urged the government to stop using the module by National Civics Bureau (BTN) as it is claimed to be racist.
Its deputy president, Salahuddin Ayub also claimed that the racism promoted in the module leads to racist threats and provokes feelings of hatred towards non-Malays.
“The module teaches, educates and implements extreme hatred towards a certain race or group in the name of race or religion which will threaten the country in the long run.
“They are playing Chinese-Malay issues, especially against the Chinese whom they say are a threat to our nation, that if our country falls into the hands of the Chinese then it will be destroyed,” he said at a press conference at Amanah’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
Salahuddin also claimed the module is used to aggravate opposition leaders.
“They specifically target a few leaders, for example now they have their eyes on Mahathir Mohamad, Muhyiddin Yassin and Lim Kit Siang.
“During my time, they mentioned Abdul Hadi Awang, Nik Aziz as bringing heresy which could divide the country,” said Salahuddin.
Salahuddin added that 70% of the module implements racial hatred whereas only 30 percent of it involves polity.
