JOHOR will slash the salary of its executive coucillors only if all of them agree, Bernama reported Menteri Besar Osman Sapian as saying.

He was responding to PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim’s call for all Pakatan Harapan state governements to take the lead from the federal cabinet and dock the pay of state office bearers to curb extravagence. 

Osman said it was important that state government brought the matter to the exco meeting to obtain the views of all members.

“If they agree, we will follow. If not, we will do it our way.

“I did not give my personal view as it involves the views of many members,” he said after presenting contributions to 50 families and giving away bubur lambuk at Econsave in Taman Daya near Johor Baru today.

On the special Aidilfitri assistance for state civil servants, Osman said the state government would also study the matter before making any decision. – May 26, 2018.
