MyPPP confirms new president, denies Kayveas' claim it is no longer with BN

MAGLIN Dennis D’Cruz said MyPPP, in its 64th annual general assembly today, has confirmed that he is president.

Bernama reported him as saying the assembly, attended by 1,236 delegates, came to the unanimous decision that M. Kayveas is not the valid holder of the post.

“Loga Bala Mohan will assume the post of MyPPP senior vice-president,” said Maglin.

MyPPP had sacked Kayveas as president, but he had earlier claimed that this ran contrary to the party constitution, which states that the president can be replaced only by holding a general assembly or extraordinary general assembly.

It was reported that Kayveas said he had received a letter from the Registrar of Societies (RoS), confirming him as the rightful president of MyPPP.

Yesterday, he said the party will remain independent after having left Barisan Nasional, and will not join any coalition, including the ruling Pakatan Harapan.

Maglin today said MyPPP is still with BN.

“What was said by Kayveas was merely his personal opinion and not representative of the party, as he has already been expelled and his membership has been terminated.”

Loga Bala said the decision to give Kayveas the boot and appoint a new president was in line with the party constitution.

He said he will submit to RoS the party’s meeting minutes and a list of new appointees.

“We are given 60 days from the date of the general assembly to submit the documents to RoS. In a meeting with the agency several days ago, RoS had directed MyPPP to hold the assembly today.” – May 26, 2018.
