MOHAMED Azmin Ali today said Selangor Pakatan Harapan will discuss the menteri besar candidate next week.

“When we have reached a decision, we will submit the candidate’s name to the Selangor ruler to get his consent,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama.

“We might submit the candidate’s name after Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Should it get the sultan’s consent, the swearing-in ceremony will be held as soon as possible.”

Asked whether a PKR leader will be made menteri besar, he said discussions have yet to be held.

He also shot down speculation that three assemblymen have been shortlisted for the post.

Azmin is now both Selangor menteri besar and economic affairs minister.

He accepted the post in Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s cabinet after getting the consent of Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and was sworn in on Monday. – May 24, 2018.
