Najib grilled for 7 hours at MACC HQ

The Malaysian Insight

FORMER prime minister Najib Razak today spent seven hours at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters answering questions relating to the SRC International case and RM2.6 billion found in his two bank accounts.

The questioning started at 10am and ended just before 5pm.

On Monday, Najib spent four hours giving his statement to MACC.

The 65-year-old former prime minister, upon exiting the interrogation room today, went straight into another room to meet his lawyers.

“I answered their questions to the best of my ability. The investigation and questioning have been concluded,” he told the media before leaving the MACC compound in a Toyota Vellfire.

Following Pakatan Harapan’s victory in the 14th general election, Najib is now the subject of MACC and police investigations.

He is accused of corruption and other wrongdoings related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd, of which SRC International was a subsidiary.

Police last week raided six premises linked to Najib. They seized 284 boxes of designer handbags, and 72 luggage bags filled with cash and jewellery.

They also seized documents said to be related to 1MDB. – May 24, 2018.
