DEPUTY Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the name of the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry will be maintained.

“I was made to understand (the matter) by the prime minister (Dr Mahathir Mohamad), and after checking with the chief secretary to the government (Ali Hamsa), the old name will be maintained,” Bernama reported her as saying in Putrajaya today.

The ministry, too, has issued a statement, saying the name will be kept.

When the initial cabinet line-up of 13 ministers was announced, Dr Wan Azizah was given the “women and family development” portfolio. – May 24, 2018.
