DR Wan Azizah Wan Ismail will meet the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) next week to discuss the mechanism for the introduction of EPF contributions for housewives.
The women, family and community development minister said RM50 would be allocated for each housewife under the proposed scheme.
“I will meet with the EPF chief executive officer, as we need to determine a good mechanism to determine who is qualified.
“2% of the contribution is coming from the husband’s salary,” she said at the ministry today.
“A special action team has also been formed to look at stunted growth and obesity among children, particularly those from poor families.β
Wan Azizah said experts such as economists, dieticians, and paediatricians would be roped in to give their input. β May 24, 2018.
