THE first woman deputy prime minister in Malaysia has punched in at the Women and Family Development Ministry.
Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail arrived at the ministry at 8.45am to clock in for duty at 9am sharp.
During the signing over ceremony, she joked that the minister has already had her pay cut at the first cabinet meeting.
“The first cabinet meeting and it was announced that the salary has been cut,” she said to laughter from the staff.
A press statement from the ministry said she would focus on eight areas β women, the family, the elderly, children, the disabled, disaster victims, the poor, and volunteer organisations. β May 24, 2018.
