PKR’S Rantau candidate, Dr S. Streram, today filed an election petition at the Seremban High Court to declare Mohamad Hasan’s win null and void.

Bernama reported that Dr Streram filed the petition through lawyers Sreekant M.G. Gangadharan Pillai, Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali and Sathia Stella Sidhu at 3pm.

On nomination day for the 14th general election, returning officer Amino Agos Suyub announced that Barisan Nasional’s Mohamad had won the state seat unopposed after Dr Streram failed to file his nomination in time.

He had been barred entry into the nomination centre for not having a candidate’s pass.

The petition named Mohamad as the first respondent, Amino Agos as the second and the Election Commission as the third. – May 23, 2018.
